Set your phone to “Modem Mode” . Plug it in to the computer and open BitPim 1.0.7. BitPim found the phone as “Other CDMA phone on COM5. Clicked on “Filesystem” on the tree and try to view it. It won’t open. So click Edit> Settings> under “Phone Type drop down menu chose LG-VX10000 (Voyager) and click OK at the bottom of the settings window.
BitPim now shows the phone (at the bottom left of the screen) as “LG-VX10000 (Voyager) on COM5 – Manually Set. Click on Filesystem in the left tree … (next making sure that “View> Filesystem is checked in the View Menu) then click the + sign next to the folder in the Filesystem column and (after a short time while it retrieves the info) it will appear. Open Brew> Mod> 10889> Ringtones and just drag and drop to load custom Mp3 ring tones.
Some phones may not work with the LG Voyager setting, so you would have to set it on the LG Dare “VX9700″ or LG Versa “VX9600″.
umm… i did this but bitpim doesnt wanna detect the phone…. can you show what the settings have to be on to get it to detect the phone?
The reason you are experiencing this problem is because your usb port may not be working or possibly the cable is the problem.
